Piracy Law Database

This database contains the domestic legislation of numerous countries related to their ability to prosecute acts of piracy or armed robbery at sea, as well as pertinent international legal instruments.  This database seeks to provide transparency to the countries’ ability to repress and combat piracy. For additional materials on piracy generally, please see OBP’s reports and external resources.

SOURCES: The domestic legislation and international legal documents provided in this database are all publicly accessible, primarily from online databases which catalogue these types of materials.  This database would not be possible without the work of these organizations

In partnership with OBP, this database was compiled with assistance from the United Nations Office of Drugs and Crime, and CEMLAWS Africa.
