A new approach is needed to combat maritime threats. Identifying and explaining piracy and armed robbery at sea is an important step toward reducing the violence at sea. On May 23rd, Oceans Beyond Piracy releases its 8th annual State of Maritime Piracy report with analysis of the economic and human costs of piracy in 2017.
