Danish Maritime Days 2016: Maritime Security Conference

On 25 October, Oceans Beyond Piracy, with the Danish Shipowners' Association and Risk Intelligence, will co-sponsor a conference at Clipper House in Copenhagen exploring the question: How Does Maritime Security Information Add Value to the Shipping Community?

Leading experts from the maritime sector, international organizations, and academia will present the latest assessments of some of the most pressing maritime security challenges, as well as share their views on how to address them. The speakers include representatives from BIMCO, Clipper Group, European External Action Service, the International Organization for Migration, Maritime Piracy Humanitarian Response Programme, Risk Intelligence, Shell Shipping, and Stellenbosch University. This event is the third consecutive maritime security conference hosted by Clipper Group and organized jointly by the Danish Shipowners’ Association, Oceans Beyond Piracy and Risk Intelligence during Danish Maritime Days 2016. Through presentations and conversations, speakers and participating experts will discuss this year’s theme; “How Does Maritime Security Information Add Value to the Shipping Community?” The last two conferences have been attended by representatives from governments, the maritime industry, navies and academia, offering a unique forum for networking and exchange of cutting edge ideas and knowledge.
